The Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Kollupitiya Police Crimes Division has passed away from a sudden illness this morning.
He had collapsed while he was exercising due to a sudden illness at the Galle Face Green this morning, said the Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
It was revealed that the OIC has been a heart patient for a long period.
The post mortem is due to be carried out later today.
Further investigations will be conducted by the Kollupitiya Police.
