Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya topped the list of players with most number of maximums in the first season of the IPL. He hammered 31 sixes in the 14 matches he played for the Mumbai Indians during that season.
Sanath Jayasuriya also holds the record for most number of sixes hit by a Mumbai Indians player in an IPL match. Sanath Jayasuriya hit 11 sixes when he smashed 114* against Chennai Super Kings in 2008.
