The total number of COVID-19 positive patients detected in the county has increased to 12,187 by 10 am yesterday.
The Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit sources said that around 6,623 of them have recovered while 5,540 remain in hospitals.
The total number of persons who tested positive for the virus in the Minuwangoda Cluster has risen to 8,708 by 10 am yesterday.
Meanwhile ,the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) yesterday stated that around 10,655 PCR tests were carried out across the country only during the day Wednesday (4) and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 557,458.
According to the NOCPCO, 156 quarantined individuals left for their homes after PCR tests yesterday. To-date, 63,439 individuals have left for homes after quarantining.
