Cabinet approves to establish a weapons museum

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved to establish a museum controlled under the Department of National Museums for the conservation of the ancient weaponry discovered in the island. The proposal was submitted by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

It has been identified of a formal programme to be implemented for the collection, conserving, maintaining and securing the ancient weapons including the stone age weapons unearthed from the archeological excavations.
