COVID-19 infected cases from the prisons has increased to 652 with 35 newly reported cases yesterday.
This includes 609 inmates and 43 prison officers.These new cases have been reported from Boossa, Kuruwita and Welikada prisons.
Meanwhile,Prison Reforms and Prisoners Rehabilitation State Minister Dr.Sudarshani Fernandopulle has instructed all Superintendents of Prisons to provide the inmates and the officers in the Prisons with herbal drinks on a daily basis to boost their immunity.
