Yoshitha appointed as Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff. China congratulates.

The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka has congratulated former Navy Officer Yoshitha Rajapaksa on his appointment as the new Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Chinese Embassy Tweeted that its Chargé d’affaires Hu Wei congratulated Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who is the second son of the Prime Minister, on his new appointment.

It is reported that Yoshitha Rajapaksa assumed duties as the new Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday (13).

The Chinese Embassy in Colombo further said that bilateral friendship and follow-ups of recent high-level visit were discussed between the two officials.

The Prime Minister’s Office has clarified that the positon of Chief of Staff to the PM has been downgraded to a position similar to that of an Additional Secretary. (NewsWire)
