The number of persons who died of dengue in the Batticaloa District has risen to three with the dengue patient who died on October 13.
Sixteen people have been detected with dengue in the district and of them, nine are from the Oddamavadi MOH Division, six from Batticaloa, Arayampathy and Valaichchenai and one from the Koralai Pattu Central Division.
The Regional Health Department reported that 2,248 people were detected with dengue in the last nine months from the Batticaloa District.
