‘Suwa Dharani’ launched to boost immunity against COVID-19 virus

The State Ministry of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health yesterday launched an Ayurvedic medicine which can help to boost immunity against the COVID-19 virus called ‘Suwa Dharani’.

The launching ceremony of the drug was held under the patronage of the State Minister for Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Sisira Jayakody at the Navinna Department of Ayurveda.

The Minister said that this medicine, which contains coriander, vetiver, heen aratta and dried ginger, helps in boosting the immune system.

The Minister said that this medicinal drink is formulated from natural medicines and no one suffers from any side effects and anyone can use this medicine without any fear.

The State Minister said that this medicine is being given to people in high risk areas where the coronavirus is prevalent and although scientific research has not been done in this regard despite the fact that the medicine has cured the infected people.

Minister of External Affairs Dinesh Gunawardena, Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Secretary Kumari Weerasekera, Commissioner of the Department of Ayurvedic Drugs Chathura Kumaratunga and Chairperson of the Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation Sagala Abeysinghe were also present.
