The University Grants Commission said that, the University of Kelaniya and the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute in Yakkala will be closed for a week starting from tomorrow as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Further, students have been requested to vacate hostels immediately, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) said.
This decision has been taken following the detection of a COVID-19 positive woman employed at an apparel factory from Divulapitiya, Minuwangoda, who tested positive for the COVID-19.
