Livestock Farm Promotion and Dairy and Egg Related Industries State Minister D.B. Herath said that the Government works hard for the people and the country.
He said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has set apart Rs. 8,000 million for the North Western Province to provide electricity for its every householder.
He was addressing a media briefing at his residence in Wariyapola on Saturday.
State Minister Herath said that the Government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is committed to protect the farmers and provide a reasonable price for their products.
He said that China has pledged to provide funds to renovate 92 new projects in the North Western Province.
The State Minister said that 343 rural villages have been selected to develop animal husbandry and the farmers in them will be provided with agricultural equipment. Over 3,740 Km of provincial roads will be developed under the direction of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, he said.
Over 670,000 farmer families in animal husbandry will be provided with necessary equipment and other aid, he said.
He said that livestock is an important sector in the economy.
It could resolve social and economic issues and improve the living standards of the rural population, State Minister D.B. Herath said.
