An interdicted Special Task Force (STF) officer who was running a weapon manufacturing plant has been arrested along with firearms and cartridges by the Tangalle Police Crime Eradication Bureau.
The suspect is a resident of Senawatta, Kadurupokuna inTangalle. He has been running the plant at the kitchen of his house, police said
T56 firearm, 20 T56 cartridges, four SG cartridges, four No.4 cartridges two galkatas firearms, four six-inches barrels and a welding plant were seized, police said.
The OIC crime eradication bureau Tangallepoice K.K. Nishanthalal and a team of police officers are investigating.
