Case against Panadura PS member fixed for Jan. 25

The case against Panadura Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) member Upendra Silva filed by the Wadduwa Police Traffic Branch was fixed for trial on January 25, 2021 by Panadura Additional Magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya on October 12. 

Counsel M. D. Wijepala appearing for the complainant informed Court that the National Authority for the protection of Victims of Crime and Witnesses had conducted a comprehensive inquiry against Upendra Silva regarding the harassment caused to the complainant in MC Case No. 65334 that was called before Court. 

An investigations report had been forwarded to the Attorney General to file action against Upendra Silva before the High Court. 

Upendra Silva is charged by the Wadduwa Police Traffic Branch for committing five offences punishable under the Criminal Procedure Code and the Traffic Code.
