A man was arrested with 15 fake driver’s licence applications and 78 milligrams of heroin by Udawalawa Police, recently. The arrest was made following a raid conducted at the suspect’s house in Karametiara.
Among the items seized were also two fake seals bearing the name of the Ratnapura District Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, as well as two fake National Identity Cards (NICs).
Police said that the suspect is a bus conductor. They added that he is also a drug addict. Police believe that he is in the counterfeit document business to find money for drugs.
Investigations are continuing.
