Arjuna resigns as Gampaha district UNP leader

Former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga has resigned from his position as Gampaha district UNP leader and the relevant letter has already been sent to party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Ranagunga in his letter of resignation said that he feels that he does not deserve to be the leader of the Gampaha district when the new Deputy Leader of the party Ruwan Wijewardene represents the Gampaha district.

The copies of the letter has been sent to UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, National Organizer Naveen Dissanayake and UNP Gampaha District Manager Lakshman Samaratunga.
