Ninety-one individuals were arrested for violating quarantine curfew so far, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He further said that 19 motorcycles, 3 three-wheelers and a lorry also were taken into custody.
Quarantine curfew is currently in effect in 18 police divisions in Gampaha district until further notice.
He requested from the residing persons of the quarantine curfew affected areas to support the police and other health authorities to control this pandemic situation while adhering to the Covid-19 health guidelines.
DIG Ajith Rohana said that legal actions will be taken against those who violate the quarantine curfew regulations.
