Police had arrested 1,481 suspects over various offences during a special operation carried out in the Western province within a 24- hour period.
Accordingly, Police had arrested 47 foreign nationals for overstaying without valid visa, 777 suspects arrested over various offenses, 326 suspects have been apprehended under arrest warrants and 514 suspects arrested for drug related offences .
Around 70 suspects who had been evading police after committing various offences have also been arrested while 80 unsolved crimes have been solved, police said.
