The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has pointed out that beef has been identified as a contributor for cancer.
President of the GMOA Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya said the World Health Organization (WHO) has also issued an announcement about this.
He also said that beef contributes to the increase in diabetics.
Dr. Padeniya made these remarks addressing a press conference extending his support to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s suggestion to ban cattle slaughter in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
