28 returnees tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday

The National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 had identified 28 positive cases by this morning.

All of them were those who had returned to the country from overseas.

Accordingly, 13 from Dubai, who were housed at the Rantabe, Kandakadu and Jetwing Blue quarantine centre,  one from Qatar who is housed at the Hotel Ceylon lodge quarantine centre, one from Kuwait who is housed at the Iranamadu quarantine centre, four from Bangladesh who were housed at the Hotel Madaram quarantine centre, Three Indian navy personnel who were housed at the Negombo Caroline Beach quarantine centre and Five from Bahrain who were housed at the Super Carol hotel and Negombo Caroline beach quarantine centre were those who had tested positive for Covid-19 by this morning

Meanwhile, 11 persons who were undergoing the quarantine process at tri-forces operated quarantine centres were released  raising the total number of persons who had undergone quarantine at the military quarantine centres to 41,113.

Further, another 6,142 persons are currently in quarantine at 60 tri-forces operated quarantine centres.

According to the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19, another 1920 PCR tests had been carried out on Monday raising the total number of PCR tests carried out to 256,043.

Another nine COVID-19 positive patients who had made a complete recovery had been released from hospital by this morning.

They were those who had returned to the country from overseas and in quarantine.

By this morning 649 inmates and staff members at the Kandakadu and Senapura Rehabilitation Centres had tested positive. Among them were 528 rehabilitees, 67 staff members, 05 visiting staff members, 48 family members and 01 person who had associated the Covid positive inmate from Welikada.

Meanwhile, 638 persons from the Kandakadu rehabilitation identified with Covid have made a complete recovery and have been discharged from hospital. Accordingly, 11 more are receiving treatment in hospital.
