Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Puttalam district candidate Shantha Sisira Abeysekara stated that the UNP had no dignity at present and the members of SJB are not willing to join the UNP again.
He was speaking at a media briefing to raise awareness on the election preparations in the Puttalam district yesterday. He also highlighted that before calling back the SJB members, the UNP must do away with all corrupt politicians in the UNP immediately.
“UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe declared a general amnesty period requesting SJB members to rejoin the UNP. We have not left the UNP but we are loathe in going to Sirikotha as there are plenty of corrupt members inside Sirikotha,” he said.
He also highlighted that none of the officials are raising their voice against the ecological destruction in the area as officials are afraid of acting against the destruction happening in the district.
