SJB supporters return to UNP

One-hundred-and-twenty-five Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) supporters from Mawathagama climbed on the UNP stage expressing their support to UNP leader Ranil Wikremesinghe.

Former Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam welcomed them at the rally. He said that the UNPers could never forget the party and its leader Ranil Wikremesinghe.

Addressing the rally, he requested the masses to vote for the UNP to protect the country. He added that if the people made a wrong decision, the whole country will be affected. The economy of the country would also be affected. It is only the UNP which could revive the economy and enhance the living standards of the people.

Kariyawasam said that the UNP has a plan for the country, unlike other parties. He added that those who joined the SJB are regretting their decision and returning to the UNP, expressing their support.

Candidate attorney Ranil Edirimanna said the SJB is the weakest party in the country.

Now they have lost the confidence of the people at the village level and the JVP is facing the same situation.

He said the UNP would win this General Election obtaining more votes than ever before, for Ranil Wikremesinghe has a vision to take the country on the path of progress.
