SJB leader trying to bribe voters - WDJ

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa’s election promise of offering Rs. 20,000 per family is a bribe given to the people and therefore the Election Commission should take action against it, former Minister and SLPP candidate W.D.J.Seneviratne said.

Addressing a public meeting held in Ratnapura recently he said that the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption should also take action against his election promise. People will not vote either for the United national Party (UNP) or the SJB because they do not know which party to vote for now.

The former Minister said that due to the break-up of the UNP, a large number of supporters are now joining the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and it is very clear that the SLPP will achieve a landmark General Election victory with a lot more than a two thirds majority in Parliament.

The 19th Amendment brought in by the Yahapalana regime made the Sri Lankan Constitution a total mess and now it is distorted.

The people of Sri Lanka should vote for the right people and send them to the next Parliament to help take President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s National Programme forward, he added.
