Rs. 514 million spent on Election Campaigning from July 2-15: Which party spent the most?

The Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) has released its first update on the estimated campaign expense of political parties and candidates for the 05 August General Elections.

The Election monitoring body said the update covers the period from 02- 15 July.

As per the report, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leads with an estimated campaign cost of Rs.185 million followed by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) with Rs.151 million and the United National Party (UNP) with Rs.123 million. (Newswire)
