An imprisoned drug addict has died after falling from the 8th floor of the Negombo hospital.
The prisoner was admitted to the ward on the 8th floor of the Negombo hospital on Sunday (12) to undergo PCR or Covid-19 testing.
He had reportedly fallen off the 8h floor while attempting to escape at around 02.00 a.m. today.
The Police said the victim, who was imprisoned over drug charges, has been identified as a 36 year- old resident of North- Kaduruwana.
