Jathika Jana Balawegaya leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that racism is the only trump card used by the present day politicians to come to power.
He was addressing the “Brotherhood Day” celebration organized by the Socialist Youth Union at the Colombo Public Library on Thursday.
Dissanayake also asked that although the war ended in 2009, “were the rulers able to govern the country for at least 5 years without any conflict?”.
“Racist clashes broke out in 2013 and 2014. When things turn sour, the rulers take cover by playing the racist card. Racism is the abode of the rulers.
They do not respect any nation or people. Not even their own race. For them, racism is just like a football,” he pointed out.
“The killing of soldiers by Karuna Amman is not fresh news for the public. Karuna Amman while speaking at a meeting in the Eastern Province and alleged to have said that he killed army personnel. He is being used to obtain the votes of the Tamil People,” Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
