Acting IGP C.D.Wickramaratna has requested the National Police Commission (NPC) to transfer PNB DIG Sajeewa Medawatta and PNB Director SSP Manjula Senarath.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne said the PNB DIG and the Director will be transferred after National Police Commission approval is received. He said that the two PNB heads would be transferred to facilitate an impartial inquiry.
Four officers attached to the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) were interdicted on Monday (29) to facilitate an inquiry over their alleged links with drug dealers.
A Police Sub Inspector, two Sergeants, and a Police Constable were the interdicted officers.
