Addressing a meeting held in Matara on Sunday, former Minister Weerasumana Weerasinghe said that the United National Party (UNP) and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) have already accepted their defeat in the Matara District.
He said that knowing the pulse of the people, former Parliamentarian Sagala Ratnayake did not even seek nomination, while former Minister Mangala Samaraweera pulled out of the 2020 election even after he had handed over his nomination.
