Restraining order fixed for June 22

The Colombo District Court yesterday fixed its restraining order against the expulsion of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) party members from the United National Party (UNP) for June 22.

The case was taken up before Colombo District Court Chief Judge Amali Ranaweera. The case has been filed by Samagi Jana Balawegaya, General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara against three other defendants including UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, requesting a restraining order preventing them from expelling from the UNP.

UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Deputy Leader Ravi Karunanayake have been named as the accused in the case.
