The PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Tests conducted to detect COVCID-19 patients in Sri Lanka passed the 75,000 mark and a total of 78,723 PCR Tests had been done by yesterday (June 8), the Epidemiology Unit sources said.
According to the sources, the highest number of PCR Tests done within one day was recorded on June 03rd (last Wednesday) and it was 2086. A total of 1890 PCR Tests had been done on June 04th and another 1816 PCR Tests had been done on June 05th.
All people should strictly follow all health guidelines issued by the Government and the Health Ministry in connection with COVID-19. They are wearing a face mask whenever going out from home, keeping at least one meter distance from another person and washing hands with soap and water often and using a hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
