Global coronavirus cases exceed 7.8 million

More than 7.8 million people have now been confirmed to have the coronavirus and at least 432,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Meanwhile, India reported its biggest single-day jump in coronavirus infections as the country passed a grim milestone of 321,000 cases.

Brazil became the country with the second-highest coronavirus death toll in the world with 42,791 fatalities, surpassing the death toll of the United Kingdom and second only to the United States.
