Galle counting centre numbers raised

Galle District Secretary Somarathna Vidanapthirana told the Daily News that in addition to the four counting stations already selected as coutning centres for the upcoming general, one more centre is to be added to reduce the chances of anyone contracting the coronavirus.

At the time, the centres selected are; Southlands College, Sacred Heart Convent, Saint Aloysius College, and the Galle College of Technology, he said, adding that each centre would take a total of 5,000 votes only.

The District Secretary said that 712 polling stations are to be set up in Galle, and that around 2,5000 to 3,000 police personnel are to be deployed to them.
