Showery condition to continue

The showery condition in the South-western part of the island is expected to continue further today, said the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at few places in Uva province after 02.00 pm.

Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times over the island.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity and localized strong winds during thundershowers.
