Power restored to 50,000 households

Power supply has been restored in 50,000 households in cyclone-hit areas by the CEB.

Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the officials at CEB to take immediate steps to commence the restoration work of houses where the power supply was suspended as a result of the inclement weather.

Trees had fallen on power lines resulting in a power outage for nearly 50,000 households across the country.

Minister Amaraweera has thanked the CEB officials for their efforts to restore the power supply in all 50,000 households within 24 hours.

He further said that CEB officials are vigilant to face any emergency caused by the prevailing cyclone.
