New procedure for MCC , LCL cargo delivery to ease delays during Covid-19

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has introduced a new procedure for MCC (Multi Country Consolidation) and LCL (Less than Container Load) delivery of cargo to curb any delays that may occur in their operations during Covid – 19 period. The new arrangements were enacted with effect from yesterday (05th May 2020) through the Logistics Division of SLPA. Accordingly, all MCC and LCL requests now should be sent in accordance with the new formats of procedure to the Duty Officer of SLPA who could be contacted via 071 8688361, minimum of one day prior to the expected date of delivery or loading operations. Through the new process, SLPA insists to guarantee the delivery of cargo on the date of request without delay and urges all relevant parties to comply with the new process. New formats of procedure for the delivery of MCC and LCL cargo can be downloaded reaching SLPA website at www.slpa.lk Any complains in this regard can be communicated through Chief Manager (Logistics) via 071 5362339 or Senior Manager (Logistics) via 0770625835.
