Grace period announced to pay traffic fines

The Postal Department has announced a grace period to pay all traffic fines that were delayed due to the island-wide curfew.

The decision was taken with the approval of the Inspector General of Police and the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.

All traffic fines issued on or before March 01 are allowed to be paid at post offices and sub-post offices from the 11th to the 29th of May, 2020. The decision was taken due to the continuous curfew on Western Province and Puttalam Districts.

All post offices island-wide will be open for public services from tomorrow, payment of fines will be facilitated.

A grace period was granted to pay traffic fines issued from February 16-29 until May 2, additional charges will be levied for delayed payments.
