Another group leaves Jaffna after quarantine

A number of 220 civilians left Jaffna for their residences in Bandaranayake Mawatha, Colombo 12 today after Completion of two week long quarantine process at the Elephant pass and Viddaththapalei quarantine centres.

The quarantine process was carried out by the medical and nursing staff assisted by troops under the supervision of General Officers Commanding 52 and 55 Divisions on the directions of Major General
Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

The whole process was conducted under the guidelines of the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the NOCPCO, Chief of the Defence Staff and Commander of
the Army.

Following a carefully conducted final medical screening procedures and awarding of quarantine certificates, the quarantines were directed to their residences by Army providing transport facilities with the assistance of Police to guide the convoy of 16 vehicles.
Commander Security Forces Jaffna, General Officers Commanding 52 and 55 Divisions, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), several other officers and Troops witnessed the departure
formalities.
