All types of visas issued to foreigners extended till May 12

The Immigration and Emigration Controller General has taken a decision to extend the validity period of all types of visas of foreigners who are currently in Sri Lanka taking into consideration the spread of the Coronavirus in the country. 
 
The media release issued by the Immigration and Emigration Controller General cited that the visa will be extended until 12th May this year.
 
The statement said the procedure to pay the relevant visa fee and to get the visa endorsed in the Passport will be informed later and hence, foreigners are informed to refrain from visiting the Visa Division of the Department of lmmigration and Emigration as mentioned in the previous notice.
 
Foreigners are requested to refrain from visiting the Visa Division of the Department of lmmigration and Emigration as mentioned in the previous notice. And the statement said the procedure to pay the relevant visa fee and to get the visa endorsed in the Passport will be informed later.
 
If however the foreign individual wishes to leave the country during this period their journey will be facilitated by paying the relevant fees at the airport without any penalty.
