Patali allowed to travel abroad from April 26

Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana Silva temporarily lifted the travel ban imposed on former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, yesterday.

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka was charged with allegedly causing a motor accident in 2016 at Rajagiriya. When the matter was taken up before court, President’s Counsel Anuja Premarathne appearing on behalf of the suspect, requested the temporary lifting of the travel ban imposed on his client, from April 26 to May12. The suspect was ordered to be released on an additional surety of Rs.1 million. The Additional Magistrate also instructed the suspect to appear before court on May 12.
