A 45-year-old man was sentenced to 30 years’ rigorous imprisonment yesterday by the Colombo High Court in a sexual abuse case. The case was taken up before High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga. The accused was charged with committing a sexual offence on a 15-year-old boy in 2013.
The accused was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 30,000 and pay compensation of Rs. 600,000 to the victim by the Colombo High Court. Senior State Counsel Priyani Abeygunawardena appeared on behalf of the Attorney General.
