Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Youth Front yesterday pledged to support the new government under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to obtain a two-thirds majority at the next Parliamentary election.
Addressing the media yesterday at the SLFP Headquarters, SLFP Youth Front Chairman Parliamentarian Shantha Bandara said that the new government should have a two-thirds majority at the next Parliamentary Elections for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to develop and build a prosperous country in keeping with his policy document ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour.’
“As young SLFPers we are really happy about the decision taken by the party to contribute its best efforts for the victory of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa since he has already taken a number of measures to safeguard national security and boost its struggling economy,” Bandara said.
SLFP Organizer for the Habaraduwa Electorate Thisara Gunasinghe said the government has given top priority to strengthen the country’s national security which was dealt a severe blow by the former UNP led Government.
This is being done to ensure investor confidence and boost the tourism industry.
