Government disbands National Agency for Public-Private Partnership

The National Agency for Public-Private Partnership operates as a unit of the Ministry of Finance with an Advisory Board comprising of the Secretary to the Treasury and other Officials with a cadre of 20 personnel, in accordance with a Cabinet decision taken in the year 2017. It has been identified that this unit is no longer necessary since the Government is taking action to streamline its activities and consolidate functions. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development to authorize the Secretary to the Treasury to undertake the winding-up procedures of the National Agency for Public-Private Partnership, which was set up by the previous Government in 2017 was approved by the cabinet. Meanwhile, Cabinet also decided to close the Policy Development Office (PDO) which operated under the office of former Prime Minister. The proposal to close the office was presented to Cabinet by the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development.
