‘Five forensic audit reports are incomplete’

Secretary-General of Parliament Dhammika Dassanayake has informed Central Bank Governor Prof. W.D Lakshman that the five Forensic Audit reports are incomplete without the relevant annexure and exhibits.

These Forensic Audit reports were tabled in Parliament this week despite the Attorney General’s instructions not to table them due to ongoing and future legal procedures. After tabling them, the Government and Opposition MPs raised concerns that reports could be misunderstood without the annexure.

The Secretary-General was directed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to take necessary action to make available complete Audit Reports to Parliament at the earliest.

The reports of the Forensic Audit were carried out pursuant to the recommendation of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate and inquire into the issuance of Treasury Bonds.
