Eelam People’s Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) Leader Suresh Premachandran said a new party name and symbol will be announced after Thai Pongal.
“The party members and I have decided to announce the party details after Pongal, he said yesterday. He said the new Tamil political party will contest in the next General Elections and hoped that they could secure seats in the North and East”.
“The new party is formed because the behaviour of the Tamil National Alliance(TNA) has been very disappointing in the recent past,” he added.
According to reports, a discussion was held among former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran, Gajendra Kumar Ponnambalam and others who had decided to join the new political party. Premachandran said all the arrangements are being sorted with the Election Commissioner to register the new party and its symbol soon.
