Case against Sarana Gunawardane postponed till Feb.26

Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today postponed the nine corruption cases filed against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardane for February 26.

The case was filed against Sarana Gunawardena by the Bribery Commission alleging that the government had incurred losses when he leased three vehicles at a cost of Rs. 960,000, while he was Development Lotteries Board chairman from May 5 ,2007 to April 30, 2008 during the Mahinda Rajapaksa government.

The Bribery Commission alleged that the accused had committed the offences between 2007 and 2008 while he was serving as National Lotteries Board Chairman.
