Cabinet approves drafting 'National Intelligence Act’ Bill

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved drafting of a new Bill titled ‘National Intelligence Act’ to regulate and empower all intelligence services, Co-cabinet Spokesman, Information & Communications Technology, Higher Education, Technology & Innovations Minister Bandula Gunawardane said.

This was announced during the weekly cabinet media briefing held today at the Government Information Department.

Minister Gunawardane said that the national intelligence services of the country plays a pivotal role in correctly predicting possible security threats and taking necessary measures to prevent such threats by making necessary recommendations.
