2019 ends with US$7.6bn official reserves

Sri Lanka’s gross official reserves grew by US$118.05 million to US$7,638.5 million in December 2019 from US $ 7,520.45 million in November, latest Central Bank data showed. By the end of December, foreign currency reserves were 6,609.1 million dollars while the reserve position in the IMF was 66.2 million dollars. Reserves in Gold were 954.9 million and other reserve assets were 1.0 million US dollars. Moreover, During the year up to 09th January 2020 the Sri Lanka rupee appreciated against the US dollar by 0.1%
