The Commissioner General of Examinations, B.Sanath Pujitha has confirmed that the GCE Ordinary Level Examination commenced today due to the fairly pleasant weather condition.
717,008 candidates will sit for the exam at 4,987 examination centres this year. Of the 717,008 candidates 433,050 are school candidates while the balance 283,958 candidates are private candidates.
