Fisheries and Aquatic Resources State Minister Dilip Wedaarachchi said Sajith’s victory at the forthcoming election is certain since all ethnic groups support him. “The people do not need a dictator like Gotabaya, but a democratic leader such as Minster Sajith Premdasa,” he said.
He was addressing a presidential propaganda meeting in Tangalle recently.
The State Minister said Gotabaya said he will release the military personnel in prison for alleged abductions and assassinations from all charges. “Only a dictator can do this type of work,” he said.
Wedaarachchi asked whether they need a dictator to govern the country.
“Although Sajith challenged his main opponent to come forward for a debate on their manifesto, he did not respond. This shows his inability to face his opponent,” the State Minister said.
“How can a person like Gotabaya, who was never been even a Pradesheeya Sabha member face a experienced politician like Sajith Premadasa?” the State Minister asked.
