The sand bar along the seas in Batticaloa was removed at Palameenmadu, Batticaloa to release the flooded water in paddy fields, drains and on lands on Saturday evening.
Batticaloa Government Agent M.Uthayakumar along with Manmunai North Divisional Secretary V.Vasudevan initiated the water release.
