Police arrested five suspects with counterfeit money in their possession.
They were arrested at the Boralesgamuwa when they were trying to produce it to a liquor shop. The suspects were arrested in a raid carried by the Police on a tip-off received. Police seized 3 counterfeit notes of the Rs. 5000.
Later the police raided the place where the counterfeit currency notes were printed and arrested four others and seized a laptop , a printing machine, 7 counterfeit notes of the Rs. 5000 and a scanning machine that belonged to them as well.
The suspects were to be produced at the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.
