Agriculture and Irrigation State Minister Wasantha Aluvihare said Karuna Amman, Pilleyan, and Wardaraja Perumal, who were terrorist leaders in the war time, have become the main supporters of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
He was speaking at the presidential election propaganda meeting of the New Democratic Front (NDF) at the Dambulla Nissanka Park recently.
The State Minister further said the opponents are levelling various allegations against the government over the Easter Sunday bomb attacks. He said, however, the main suspects of that attack like Saharan were fed by the previous regime.
Aluvihare said Hizbullah and Asad Sali are another two traitors of the motherland.
“They did not represent the Muslim community to win their rights. Instead, they have betrayed their community,” he said.
“The public are rallying round NDF Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa to strengthen his mandate. Several public organizations too have come forward to make him victorious, he added.
The State Minister said a yeoman service has been rendered by Sajith Premadasa in the past four years for the poor people. Moreover, the salaries of state employees have been increased, and the increment will be effective the next year, he said.
Fertiliser will be provided for farmers for the the next season for free. The high prices of commodities in the previous regime have been reduced now, the State Minister further said.
